We’re mostly set for our first event in Belfast on May 12th. Northern Ireland Science Park, Innovation Centre. Refreshments from 5.30pm. Presentations at 6.00pm, and further tea/coffee and conversation from 7.00pm to 7.30pm.
Speaker line-up currently:
- Dr William Scanlon – CSIT
- Deirdre Ferguson – Belfast City Smart Cities Development Department
- Mark Maguire – Fujitsu.
There will be 5 minutes of open mike at the start, so if you want to announce something or request help with a project, just come up to the front and grab your moment. I will be blatantly abusing the system and appealing for people to vote for my Virgin Voom 2016 connected health pitch If I can be that crass, so can you. As long as it’s short, you can have the mike.
We have a decent number of people registered, but free events tend to have a fairly large no-show factor, if you decide you aren’t attending please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know so we can reduce spend on food etc. accordingly. But do please make the effort to come – we would like to start with a good crowd at the first event and then grow from there.
I’ll post a video of the event for those that can’t attend or in other parts of the world. We’ll be in touch with the people who have joined IoTA from cities other than Belfast, Dublin and Colombo shortly, to see how we can get things moving in your part of the world.
I look forward to seeing the rest of you on May 12.
